There has been a lot of debate in the media recently over whether or not teleworking is an effective way for managers and businesses to run their day-to-day operations. Since 2010 we have run a completely virtual company. There are many great benefits that we would like to share with you based on our own experiences. Because we live and breathe it every day, we can easily help your business transition to utilizing staff that are working from home.

1.  Working from home will save your business money! One of the best benefits of hiring a teleworker or having your staff work from home is the amount of money it will save you each month. Having a traditional in-house employee costs money for the office space, the electricity, and the downtime when your employees can’t make it to work because of bad weather or sick children. How much money does your business currently spend on office space each month? Imagine running a virtual business where your employees work from home. How much money could you save each month? Check out this article below, the numbers may surprise you!

2.  The second reason teleworking is such a great resource for businesses is that it allows you to source talent from outside your typical hiring range. It means you can choose a more qualified candidate than you could have by hiring a traditional in-house employee. Alternatively, you may find an equally qualified candidate who lives in an area where the cost of living is lower. By finding talented employees anywhere in the world you will save money on the salaries you pay out each month.

3.  Most employees who work from home say they are more satisfied with their job. Working from home allows employees to have a better work/life balance because they spend less time getting to and from work and being stuck in traffic than non-teleworkers. Employees who are more satisfied with their jobs perform better and are more productive. It also creates less turnover in the company which means less money spent on hiring and training new employees.

4.  Employees who work from home say they are more productive than employees who work in an office. Why? Because they don’t spend hours of their day wasted in traffic commuting to and from work. They are able to get better nights sleep which means they can be more productive and focused at work and they don’t have the same distractions at home as they do in an office. Employees who work from home are able to focus on their work and not on the inter- office socialization that typically happens in a traditional business.
